Sky reporter: Arsenal ‘will finalize’ deal to sign £90,000-a-week star along with Torreira
In addition to revealing that the addition of Lucas Torreira is on the way, Sky Sport journalist Fabrizio Romano has also provided an update on another defensive deal on the cards for the Gunners.
The Gunners have started off the summer with a lot of transfer activity, after saying goodbye to Arsene Wenger in beginning of May.
With the likes of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno already secured, new Arsenal manager Unai Emery is still keen on adding more quality to his squad ahead of next season.
Reports for much of this summer have suggested that the Gunners have been working on a deal to sign Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund.
The 29-year-old, who has been pocketing £90,000-a-week wages in Germany, is seen as a potential replacement for Laurent Koscielny, who struggled with injuries once again during last season.
According to Sky reporter Fabrizio Romano, Sokratis’ transfer to the Emirates stadium will soon be ‘finalized’ along with the arrival of Lucas Torreira.
