Arsene Wenger is expected to hold talks with one of his key first team stars as speculation grows before the closing of the transfer window.

The Gunners have several players entering the final year of their contracts with an extension looking unlikely to be signed.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has made an erratic start to the new season, is one of the players being rumoured to be on the brink of a departure.

And according to Sky Sports, the 24-year-old is set to hold an important meeting with Arsene Wenger and the club’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis later this week.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has reportedly attracted the interest of Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea who have already submitted offers for his services.

The meeting on Thursday will see the England international’s future at the Emirates stadium addressed with a decision likely to be made before the transfer window is closed by next week.
