Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on improving his defense after recent worrying displays at the back in the Premier League.
The Arsenal manager is well aware that his side is in need of some sort of solution defensively if they are to secure a top four spot this season.
As a result, several reports have linked Wenger with a move for a host of highly-rated players but the latest man in the rumour mill is a bit of a surprise.
According to several outlets and most notably Sky Sports reporter Paul Gilmour, the Gunners are now targeting the signing of Jonny Evans from West Brom.
Arsenal have reportedly made an enquiry over signing the 30-year-old who spent the early years of his Premier League career at Manchester United.
With Laurent Koscielny, Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal currently sidelined by injuries, a move for Evans could see the ex-Red Devil walk straight into the Arsenal starting eleven.
