After what has been a frustrating summer so far for most Arsenal fans, it looks as though Unai Emery is on course to finish the transfer window on a positive note at least, before the start of next season.

The Arsenal boss had already secured deals for three new players at this time last year, but 12 months after his arrival at the Emirates stadium, things have turned out to be very different for him.

Following the Gunners’ failure to secure a place in the top four of the Premier League last term, club owner Stan Kroenke has been even more reluctant to invest any money into Arsenal’s transfer plans this summer.

However, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, Unai Emery is finally closing in on a couple of deals which would leave his squad in a much better shape, heading into the new campaign.

With rumours about a move for Wilfried Zaha going quiet, the Gunners have turned their attention towards Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos – whom they are hoping to sign on loan, along with Celtic’s Kieran Tierney.

“I’m led to believe there’s growing confidence Arsenal can get the deals for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos and Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney over the line.” he said, via Football Scotland

“Tierney on a permanent deal if they can sort out the structure of payment. Ceballos on loan because he sees his long-term future at Real Madrid, but he wants to get more game time now to impress Zinedine Zidane.”
