Sky Sports are reporting this week that Arsenal are holding talks over a deal which could see one of the longest-serving players in the current squad commit his future to the club.
The Gunners have shown their ambition in the post-Wenger era by moving much quicker than usual in the summer transfer window so far.
New manager Unai Emery has already been able to secure the services of Stephan Lichsteiner while deals for Sokratis and Lucas Torreira remain on course to be completed by next month.
In addition to that, the Arsenal boss is also looking to convince a few players to extend their contracts at the club and one of them is Jack Wilshere.
The 26-year-old, who has been pocketing £90,000-a-week wages, just saw his current deal expire at the start of this month.
There have been rumours of a possible departure for Wilshere but according to Sky Sports, the midfielder is in talks with Arsenal over a new deal.
