Stats update: Perez moves up to 2nd place, Akpom higher than Ozil
The 4-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night has made a few changes to Arsenal’s goal and assist tallies for the 2016/17 season far.
After Saturday’s win over Hull City, Alexis Sanchez climbed to the top of the team’s goalscorers’ list with a total of four goals but he might not stay there for too long if Granit Xhaka keeps scoring long-range stunners while Lucas Perez pounces on his opportunities.
The former may be unlikely but the latter is what many are expecting now with Perez being urged to make another start in the showdown against Chelsea on Sunday.
Chuba Akpom’s pair of good final passes on Tuesday means the youngster now has more assists than the specialist in that department, Mesut Ozil.
Below is our update of the current statistics after the Gunners’ latest fixture.
