Former Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has heaped praise on one of Arsene Wenger’s new signings following Sunday’s game.

The Gunners managed to defeat Chelsea in a penalty shoot-out after a late equalizer denied Antonio Conte’s side a 1-0 victory.

Arsenal’s clash with the Blues was also another opportunity to witness Alexandre Lacazette feature on the big stage after his move from Olympique Lyonnais last month.

And according to Gerrard, the 26-year-old new signing is certainly looking like a player with enough quality so far.

“He looked class. His first touch, he certainly looks like an Arsenal player – he oozes class.” the ex-Liverpool star said

“It’s important he gets off to a good start. From an Arsenal point of view, they need him to get off the ground really quickly.”

Lacazette is expected to make his Premier League debut for the Gunners when they open the 2017/18 season against Leicester City later this week.
