BBC journalist Guillem Balague has provided what he knows regarding the future of Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang amid rumours of an interest from FC Barcelona this month.

The Gunners have done well to keep hold of their important players so far in January, despite the fact that there was some uncertainty surrounding the futures of certain stars prior to the opening of the winter transfer window.

With the club still struggling to secure a return to the Champions League, a number of key players appeared to be facing the likelihood of an exit and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang was one of the Arsenal men linked with an exit.

The Gabon star, who happens to be earning £200,000-a-week wages (Mirror) at the Emirates stadium, has been the team’s top scorer once again this season but his future remains unclear.

A report by The Telegraph has claimed that Barcelona are looking to make a move to sign Aubameyang from Arsenal.

However, when asked about the chances of the striker leaving this month, BBC journalist Guillem Balague responded that there were ‘none’, even though some phone calls had apparently been made.

“None. There were a couple of calls, he knows of certain interest. No offer was ever given to either him or Arsenal” Balague told BBC Sport when asked about the likelihood of Aubameyang joining Barcelona this week
