‘He’s so strong’: Sky pundit makes claim about player who wants Arsenal move
Sky Sports pundit Danny Higginbotham has suggested with confidence that one of Arsenal’s potential transfer targets is capable of becoming a star in the Premier League.
Even though Ollie Watkins is currently plying his trade in the second tier of English football, the Brentford striker still appears to be aiming as high as he can as he hopes to rub shoulders with some of the big names in the Premier League in the near future.
A couple of weeks ago, Watkins admitted to SportsGazette that his dream was to wear the Arsenal shirt one day.
Of course, with the future of star striker Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang in serious doubt, now might be the best time for various strikers to advertise themselves to the Gunners.
The 24-year-old admitted his “dream” is to be an Arsenal player even though he did concede that his ambition is indeed “a long shot”.
In reaction to Watkins’ statement, ex-Manchester United defender Danny Higginbotham has talked up the potential quality that the Brentford striker could bring to the Premier League.
According to the Sky Sports pundit, Watkins has shown that he has what it takes to shine at the highest level.
Higginbotham wrote about Watkins in The Sun: “He has wonderful pace and movement and he is so strong. Physically, he has all the attributes to be a top centre-forward in the Prem.
“He seems very level-headed. I remember watching him come through at Exeter and even then you knew he was going places. A step up to the national side would not faze him.”
