Certain players Arsene Wenger predicted to be back in action for this weekend have been ruled yet again ahead of the Premier League clash with Watford.

Aaron Ramsey returned to the dressing after sustaining a thigh problem in the 4-0 FA Cup victory over Hull City before Mathieu Flamini limped off with a hamstring injury against Barcelona.

Wenger suggested a fortnight ago that the duo were likely to be ready to play after the international break.

However, the Frenchman has confirmed that Ramsey and Flamini will not be named in the 18-man squad which faces Watford on Saturday.

“Ramsey and Flamini will not be available for this weekend, but hopefully next weekend.” Wenger said.

Mohammed Elneny, who is flying back from international duty in Egypt, and Francis Coquelin are set to start again in midfield for the Gunners.
