Arsene Wenger has confirmed the severity of Arsenal’s latest injury blow ahead of Saturday’s clash with Chelsea.
The Gunners are set for a trip to Stamford Bridge as they sit in third place on the table and nine points behind the league leaders.
Tuesday night’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to Watford at the Emirates stadium saw Aaron Ramsey limp off well before the half-time break.
And according to Wenger, the Welshman, who has been troubled by injuries this season, could now miss almost a month through injury.
“Well, overall from the other night I think we lose Ramsey, and Giroud has a test. Giroud should be alright.” the Arsenal manager said on Friday
“I would say 21 days [on how long Ramsey will be out”
The Welshman is now bound to miss the next four games including the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich and the FA Cup trip to Sutton United.
Ramsey’s absence means Francis Coquelin will be the only natural central midfielder available for the Chelsea fixture as Granit Xhaka continues to serve his suspension while Mohamed Elneny remains with the Egyptian national team.
