Former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has picked out the Arsenal prospect whom he is most excited about in a season which has proven to be very frustrating at the club.

The Gunners are in the midst of a very difficult campaign after a woeful start to the season which saw them get rid of Arsene Wenger’s replacement, Unai Emery, back in November.

Despite Arsenal’s struggles though, one of the few positives from this year has been the emergence of a couple of young players who have been receiving a considerable amount of playing time under new boss Mikel Arteta.

In a recent interaction with fans on social media, former Arsenal captain Robin van Persie was asked about the one young player whom he is ‘most excited about’.

In response to the fan’s question, the BT Sport pundit revealed that Gabriel Martinelli is indeed the young player who has really caught his eye.
