Thomas Partey has admitted that he and the rest of the Arsenal squad are feeling the pain after Saturday’s woeful result.

With Premier League leaders Liverpool now tipped by many as the favourites to be crowned champions, Arsenal have known for a while that their form will have to be nearly perfect in order to compete.

However, Arteta’s side followed the win at Brentford with a very flat display on Saturday as they settled for draw away at Brighton.

17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri brilliantly put the Gunners 1-0 infront but a passive performance from Arsenal after scoring, saw them allow pressure from the Seagulls who eventually managed to win a controversial penalty from which Joao Pedro equalized.

The result leaves Arteta’s men in an unfavourable position in the title race, and Thomas Partey has expressed the team’s frustration.

According to the Ghanaian midfielder, he and his teammates are unhappy about the draw at Brighton even though the unbeaten run has continued.

“We are sad, frustrated, everybody is down but that’s part of football. We wanted to win, we wanted to keep the momentum going and at the end of the day, we didn’t get it.” Partey said on Saturday

“But it’s also a positive one because we did not lose. We have to try our best and win these games because they’re the most important ones, but it’s not an easy game against a good side and to win here you have to be perfect. We need to forget about today and keep on working hard to win our next game.”
