‘We need to drop him, Sorry’ – Some fans want this Arsenal star dropped after Liege game
Even though the Gunners secured another win in the Europa League on Thursday night, some fans believed the lesson from the match was that one of Unai Emery’s signings from the summer has to be dropped now.
Arsenal opened their Europa League campaign with a win in Germany a couple of weeks ago and their second game of the competition this season ended the same way on Thursday night.
Unai Emery took the chance to rotate his starting eleven as several players who were left out of Monday’s clash with Manchester United were handed an opportunity to impress the Emirates stadium crowd.
The win over Standard Liege saw Gabriel Martinelli find the back of the net yet again in what is becoming an absolutely magnificent start to life in England for the youngster.
After scoring twice, several fans believe the teenager is now good enough to replace Nicholas Pepe in the starting eleven.
Indeed, these Gooners are calling for Pepe to make way for Martinelli this weekend…

Pepe watching on seeing Martinelli, Willock & Saka make their marks on the first team must be hard to watch. #afc

So we paid £72m for Pepe and £6m for #Martinelli? Sure it wasn’t the other way round.. 🤔#ARSSTA

Let's go bold and play this team in the league. Well maybe Auba comes in. At this moment I'll drop pepe and play Martinelli wide. He scores, creates and works very hard off the ball
