‘We should’ve sold him on Friday’: Some fans bash Arsenal star after draw
A number of Arsenal fans made it clear via social media that they were not happy about the performance of one of the team’s big names in the Premier League clash against Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners were in search of what has become a rare win when they visited Turf Moor to face a Burnley side who have dug themselves out of the relegation battle in recent weeks.
Despite a decent show in the first half where they carved out some goalscoring opportunities, Arsenal had to settle for another draw on the road.
Featuring in the clash with the Clarets was Mesut Ozil, who has been enjoying a lot more playing time under Mikel Arteta than he ever did during the reign of previous boss Unai Emery.
The former Real Madrid star was substituted in the second half of the 2-2 draw away to Chelsea, Arsenal’s last fixture prior to Sunday.
After another quiet show from Ozil, he was once again withdrawn early after the restart as several fans took to social media to bash his display….
Ozil is robbing us of the weekly £350k at this point. We should've sold him on Friday #afc

I’ve supported him for a long time but I really don’t think Ozil offers enough from midfield.

Arteta is wasting time with Ozil. Yes the team defensively is hard to crack down but offensively Ozils strengths are not enough. Your instructions he follows but the team he will not lead when needed the most.

Mesut Ozil's last goal assist in the Premier League away from home came the day before he signed his new contract.

Mesut Ozil hasn't assisted a Premier league away goal in 2 years. Lacazette hasn't scored a Premier league away goal in almost a year. One plays as chief creator and the other plays as centre forward and we're out here scratching our heads as to why we struggle to score away..
