With the depth of options available, it has to be said that naming the attacking side of this line-up was nothing easy. But one thing for sure is the Arsenal outfit will have to be an attacking minded one tomorrow.

AS Monaco, who scored four and conceded just one in six matches during the group stage, are likely to sit back and play counter attack football at the Emirates.

The only changes in the back five should be Hector Bellerin in for Calum Chambers while be Kierran Gibbs replaces Nacho Monreal. Both changes are with the idea using more adventurous fullbacks since Arsenal will need to take the game to the visitors.

In midfield, Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla are a no-brainer but the fact that Mesut Ozil is likely to start means that the midfield may be too attacking minded and lack security. Perhaps the involvement of Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky will be needed at some point because Monaco will not sit back and defend all night.

In attack, Danny Welbeck has been a real contributor as a right-winger but he does play with the handbrake on and is more of a cautious, defensive figure there. And so if Arsenal want to be really direct and have a go (as they should in a first leg at home) then Theo Walcott has to be the man on that flank.

To be fair, Welbeck should be competing for a place at centre-forward instead right-wing  but Olivier Giroud’s current form is not helping that.
