Since Thierry Henry’s departure, Fabregas has been unsettled by speculation of a possible return to Spain after taking over the key man’s mantle at Arsenal.

Barcelona have made no secret of an interest in their former employee, and the Catalan side’s sporting director sparked rumors recently by revealing they may table a bid for Cesc.

Wenger will definitely not let the 22-year-old go for cheap, but his tone at Friday’s press-conference suggested not even a stratospheric offer will force his hand.

“No chance,” he said.“Do you really think we’ll sell our players one day before the Premier League starts? Players who are basic players of the team? There is no chance.

Arsenal’s manager acknowledges Barca’s obsession with Cesc Fabregas, but he will keep them dreaming.

“Again you cannot stop people from having a lot of creative imagination during their sleepness nights but that doesn’t mean we will do it.”
