Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he is interested in securing another deal to keep one of his most important players at the club.

The Arsenal manager received all sorts of criticism for allowing key forward Alexis Sanchez to almost run down his contract and join Manchester United during the January transfer window.

However, Wenger made things looks much better by convincing Mesut Ozil to extend his deal and stay at the club after signing a new contract which made him the highest paid player at the Emirates stadium.

The Gunners boss is now hoping to repeat that success with Jack Wilshere who is also nearing the end of his contract at the club.

According to Wenger, even though an agreement is yet to be reached with the 26-year-old club will make a move to secure his commitment with the World Cup to come this summer.

“On my side nothing has changed,” Wenger said.

“What are the chances of him staying? I don’t know.

“Jack will be free at the end of this season.

“We make a proposal to him. I want him to stay and to be linked with the club for the future. That’s my desire, I hope he will do it.”
