Arsene Wenger has confirmed that two players are on their way back ahead of this weekend’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Arsenal manager witnessed a few members of the first team squad head out for international duty after the defeat to Manchester City.

That 3-1 loss to Pep Guardiola’s side has left the Gunners sitting in sixth place in the Premier League table, 12 points behind the leaders.

Two players who were unable to feature in the clash at the Etihad stadium were Danny Welbeck and Shkodran Mustafi.

But ahead of Saturday’s match, Wenger has confirmed that the duo, who were pictured in this week’s training sessions, are indeed returning to action even though a fitness test will decide whether they play this weekend or not.

“Mustafi will have a final check [on Friday], Welbeck as well.” the Arsenal manager said

“I’ll make decisions on all of them [on Friday].”
