Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will be holding talks to address the uncertain future of one his first team stars before the transfer window closes.
The Arsenal manager has witnessed several players in his squad continue to be linked with a departure heading into the new campaign.
Jack Wilshere, who only has one year remaining on his current €99,000-a-week contract, is rumoured to be facing an exit this summer.
And Wenger has revealed that he will sit down with the 25-year-old to discuss his next move amid reports of a potential transfer to a foreign club.
“That decision is not completely made,” the Arsenal managed said
“I want him to have a chance to play somewhere as well. We have to decide that a bit later.
“I wanted first him to come back, he is coming out of a fracture.
“It is the first week he is back in full training and we have to sit down together and see where we go from there.”
“I gave him a start at a very young age,” Wenger added
“He has gone through difficult times, I want him to have the career he can have and I am quite open on that. He has the talent to be regular, but he has to come back to competition in a consistent way.”
