Arsene Wenger has moved into the race to sign one of the French league’s most highly-rated youngsters according to emerging reports.

The Gunners manager had a busy summer transfer window, securing the acquisition of five new players but he held back from spending heavily last month as Cohen Bramall remained his only signing.

Arsenal’s recent struggles in both the Premier League and Champions League have been partially attributed to the lengthy absence of Santi Cazorla.

And with the Spaniard set to miss the rest of the season while he struggles to assure the club of his fitness, Wenger is now pursuing a new option in midfield.

According to Le10sport, the Gunners have entered the race to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko after this season is brought to an end.

The report claims that Arsenal have already approached the representatives of the AS Monaco star, expressing their interest in his services.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also targeting the 22-year-old who is apparently valued at €30 million.
