Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal are still in search of a new addition to the squad.

The £10.9m deal to sign Petr Cech from Chelsea was announced two weeks ago but the Czech international remains Wenger’s solitary signing so far.

Arsenal have been linked with a host players including new Manchester United signing Morgan Schneiderlin.

And with fans calling for new faces, the Gunners boss has revealed that he may not be done yet with the transfer business.

“That [my next signing] doesn’t depend only on us, it depends on whether we can find them, but if we can find one or two players we will do it.” Wenger said

“If we find ideally what we want, we are still hoping to do something else.”

Wenger is known for completing his deals very late in the transfer window

Another star who had been linked to Arsenal is Manchester City-bound Raheem Sterling.

However, Wenger insists that the Liverpool forward was unlikely to join the Gunners due to the weight of options he already has in attack.

“For me Sterling is a top-class player. It’s a good buy for Man City. An expensive one, but they can afford it. Personally I like him.” he added

“I didn’t make a bid because he plays in an area where we have plenty of players. We have Welbeck, Walcott, Chamberlain. Sanchez, Wilshere can play there, Gnabry. He’s a wide player basically, or behind the striker.”
