The Arsenal manager has given a hint about the changes he is planning to make to his team for Saturday’s clash with Southampton.
Arsene Wenger now has the luxury of rotating his squad after welcoming several players back from injury lay-offs in the past couple of weeks.
Ahead of what could be a decisive fixture list next month, it will be imperative for the Gunners to avoid any new injury problems.
And with Granit Xhaka now suspended, Arsenal’s midfield will certainly look different this weekend as Francis Coquelin makes his return.
In the previous round of the competition, certain youngsters including Ainsley Maitland-Niles were handed a rare opportunity to impress.
However, Wenger insists his team for tomorrow could be much stronger than the one which faced Preston North End.
“We’ll put out a team with first-team experience. Maybe there will be one or two younger players, but no more.” the Arsenal manager said on Thursday
“Overall, it’s the squad that will play. I have not yet completely decided who will play and who will not play. It’s a first-team squad that will be involved.”
