Update – Wenger on whether new signing will play in next games
Arsene Wenger has responded to rumours that Arsenal are set to sign Cohen Bramall by confirming that the youngster is indeed the club’s latest signing.
The Arsenal manager has begun his business in the January transfer window fairly early after being criticized in the past for leaving it late to add new faces to his squad.
Following a couple of weeks of undergoing a trial at London Colney, Bramall is set to be officially welcomed to the Emirates stadium in a £40,000 deal with Hednesford.
“Cohen Bramall has signed for us. He’s an exceptional physical talent.’” Wenger told beIN Sports in an interview after Tuesday’s 3-3 draw with Bournemouth
The 20-year-old, who is reportedly signing a two-and-half year contract with the Gunners, has been deemed by some as a special talent considering the fact that Arsenal are willing to take a chance on him.
However, Wenger has revealed Bramall will not be featuring for the first team in upcoming league games due to his lack of experience.
“I don’t think he’s ready, today, to play in Premier League but he has similarities to a young Ashley Cole.” he added
With Kieran Gibbs currently injured while Nacho Monreal struggles to rediscover his best form, the Arsenal manager could do with the option of another left-back.
