Arsene Wenger has responded to the comments which Laurent Koscielny was reported to have made in an interview a few days ago.
The Arsenal manager has attracted criticism from all angles after his team’s disappointing recent form which has seen them drop to fourth place in the Premier League table courtesy of consecutive defeats to Watford and Chelsea.
In an interview following last weekend’s game, vice-captain Laurent Koscielny appeared to question Arsene Wenger’s team selection as ‘certain players were played after others’.
However, Wenger has played down any suggestions that the centre-back was really complaining.
“The comments that have been made were lost in translation. They have been twisted. But anyway, the players are responsible for their performance.” the Gunners boss said
“The club works well when everybody does his job. The players are responsible for their performance and that’s all, not more than that.
“I believe the manager is responsible for the results and the team selection, the board is responsible for long-term decisions and the club works only like that.
