Arsene Wenger has admitted there is some work to do behind the scenes after yesterday’s disappointing result against Watford.

Arsenal have now fallen to third place, nine points behind league leaders Chelsea even though Antonio Conte’s men dropped points at Liverpool.

An abysmal start to the clash with Watford saw the away side manage to score two goals with ease, 14 minutes into the first half.

And after watching his team fail to come back from that early deficit despite Alex Iwobi’s goal in the second half, Wenger has admitted some damage has been done by the 2-1 defeat to the Hornets.

Thus, the Arsenal manager insists he will gather his squad for an analysis of what went wrong on Tuesday night before the big trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

“We want to respond and win the game of course.” Wenger said after the loss against Walter Mazzarri’s men at the Emirates stadium.

“First, we have to analyse why we didn’t start well. There are some situations in our team which were not completely clear at the start of the game, and we have to analyse that well.”
