Arsene Wenger has explained one of the changes he made to the Arsenal starting line-up for the clash with Hull City.

Wenger’s side has been on the receiving end of some strong criticism following back-to-back defeats to Watford and Chelsea.

Thus, the Gunners boss was expected to make several alterations to the starting eleven which was defeated at Stamford Bridge last Saturday.

However, Wenger chose to make only one change to his team as Nacho Monreal was dropped for Kieran Gibbs at left-back.

According to the Arsenal manager, the Spanish international had to be withdrawn because of the form Gibbs has been in recently.

“He [Gibbs] is suited to play in this game, ” the French tactician said in his pre-match interview heading into the affair against Hull City.

“He’s been in great form in training.”
