Arsene Wenger has spoken about his next move in the transfer market, heading into the final week of the summer window.

The Arsenal manager witnessed his side succumb to a 1-0 defeat against Stoke City on Saturday, despite dominating the game for much of the second half.

With less than two weeks now remaining in the transfer window, Wenger has little time to pursue any more new signings to strengthen his squad.

The defeat to Mark Hughes’ side has certainly resurrected calls for the Gunners to spend more in the transfer market in order to improve their title credentials.

But according to Wenger, losing at Stoke has not made him any more desperate to sign new players, especially with his first team squad not completely trimmed down yet.

Thus, the Arsenal boss insists his next move will be to offload more players before any acquisitions are considered.

“I expect to sell players first [before we buy]. We have too many and it is not manageable.” the Frenchman said

“We have 31, that’s too many. But I am not after a game like that in transfer mode.”
