Arsene Wenger insists star forward Alexis Sanchez has made his mind up over where he wants to be playing next season.
The Chilean international has been in sublime form for the Gunners this campaign, scoring 22 goals in all competitions so far.
With only a year remaining on Sanchez’s contract at the Emirates stadium, the former Barcelona star has been linked with an exit, especially after the mid-season collapse at Arsenal.
The 28-year-old’s delay in signing an extension to his deal has not helped dismiss rumours which have suggested he is bound for a Chelsea switch.
However, Arsene Wenger has revealed that Sanchez has actually opted to stay at Arsenal and the only remaining move is to wrap up his new contract.
“I believe that basically he wants to stay at the club and it’s down to finding an agreement with his agent.” the Arsenal manager said
“I think the players first have to see are they are happy to the club and after (that) most of the time it’s down to finding an agreement, but the finances are involved in it, yes.”
