Arsene Wenger has once again heaped praise on star forward Alexis Sanchez for his inspiring displays on the pitch.

The Chilean international took his tally in the Premier League this season to 23 goals after two more strikes against Sunderland on Tuesday night.

Sanchez is now on course to be named the club’s Player of the Year and he is still in the running to finish as the league’s top scorer.

Thus, Wenger has praised the industrious nature of the 28-year-old who rarely appears to have lost enthusiasm regardless of his condition.

“With him, I feel he had something still left, but once he’s on the pitch and gets the ball, he always becomes a devil and forgets his pain,” the Gunners boss said

“Nobody questions his desire and his quality. It shows as well that if you look at his numbers, he has developed here as a player and has become a top-class player and has not wasted his time here.

“Hopefully that will last for a long time.”
