Arsene Wenger has revealed that one his first team players is unlikely to feature for Arsenal before 2016 is brought to an end.

The Gunners are still very much in the hunt for the Premier League title this season as they sit fourth in the Premier League table, only three points behind league leaders Chelsea.

Even so, Arsenal’s pursuit of a first league title since 2004 is expected to be troubled once again by injuries as several players remain sidelined.

With Olivier Giroud struggling to stay fit while Danny Welbeck and Chuba Akpom remain out, this was a golden opportunity for Yaya Sanogo to prove himself as an option for the Gunners at centre-forward.

However, the French striker is yet to make an appearance for the club this season with no thus far about his condition.

According to Wenger, Sanogo is currently dealing with a problem which cannot be disclosed and the 24-year-old will remain out.

“He has a confidential problem. Not a secret problem.” the Arsenal manager said after watching side lose 2-0 to Southampton in the League Cup

“I’m not a specialist enough to explain. It is not life threatening. We had to rest him completely.”
