Wenger will have to switch to Hazard after Mata defeat
If Arsene Wenger is to find a world class recruit for his midfield, it surely will not be Juan Mata.
The Spaniard – who had been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates for most of this summer – is now virtually a Chelsea player after Valencia agreed a deal with Arsenal’s London rivals.
It is suggested the Gunners had an insufficient bid for Mata rejected a couple of months ago but Roman Abramovich’s offer of £23.5m has been enough to settle matters nonetheless – ending any hopes of Arsenal making a U-turn to sign the bright 23-year-old after their desperate look against Liverpool yesterday.
This is the second time this summer that Chelsea have landed a long-time Arsenal target after the signing of Romelu Lukaku recently.
Therefore Wenger will now have to continue doing business in France with Lille – where he secured Gervinho – if he is to clinch the services of another much-coveted midfielder in Eden Hazard.
And despite reports earlier in the weekend that Samir Nasri’s move to Manchester City might have stalled, Blues’ boss Roberto Mancini claimed – following their 3-2 win at Bolton – that the Frenchman is ‘days away’ from completing his switch to Eastlands.

eden is the missing link of this team along with a center back or left back. But if we are to win anything this season i’d advice against turn on wenger and the team but rather the board. They are whats keeping us from going to the next level. They past their best-by-date.
Please arsene sign stars, I f**** hate d way things are going.
ONLY GOD KNOWS FOR HOW LONG WE GONER WAIT IN AGONY 4 THAT SUPER SIGNING ARSENE PROMISED US.I WIL REMAIN A GUNNER FOREVER DESPITE THE FACT THAT I’VE WATCHED OUR LAST TWO GAMES AT THE GROVE WITH ALOT OF STRESS COZ OUR FLUIDITY IN THE GAMES HAS EVAPORATED.
Time for all gooners to turn on the board then and only then will wenger be allowed to attract the players he really wants.
Recent reports suggest Hazard might be open to a move to Arsenal only if we can give him champions league football. This makes wednesdays game against Udinese even more vital. The game is worth £26 million in revenue plus a chance to bid for Eden. Its crucial we get an early away goal.
The boards wont spend the money not Wenger, its rediculas to think a manager would not want to sign top players, we have missed Mata and Jones not because the transfer fee was too high but because we would not pay the wages these players demanded, that is a commercial decision taken by the board not Wenger.
SACK THE BOARD

ITS TRUE GUYS ITS THE BOARD WHO IS TAKING OUR GREAT CLUB DOWN.

LOVE ARSENAL HATE STAN……………
Hazard is good enough and we can afford his wages so get it done now the board! Then Cahill and Bains. Though we weren’t good enough against Liverpool I have to say I like Jenkinson, Miguel and Frimpong. Not the finished product but they are brave and can play
Im not a Wenger basher – but I do wonder if he had sorted a deal for hazard in the 1st days of the transfer window then its likely we could have had him at half the current price. Leaving dealing to the final few days means clubs know we are desperate & inflate the fee dramatically to suit. Still, as long as we get him then thats all that matas…. sorry…matters. (Couldn’t resist it).
How I wish d Pakistani Taliban are Arsenal supporters! They wud had 4 long send Wenger 2 exile. I’m still a gooner bcos Arsenal will everly remain d club I enjoy watching.
@9icekbee I wish the REAL taliban sent you to exile you worthless piece of crap
I was expecting and wanting this to happen anyway. This means we gotta get Hazard. Never really wanted Mata, I prefer Hazard for us.
tired of arsenal being linked with best players bt nothing doing only to hear we almost got him bt—–
Best of luck
you ball bags are fucked,I await a response in broken English for some monkey in a mud hut.keep it Yiddish
Mata is twice the player Hazard is,have you all actually watched Hazard play he is nothing but a young Glenn Helder, constantly overelaborating but then he fits nicely in to Arsenal.Mata is a very direct player he goes for goal whenever he can and Wenger wanted him but wouldnt pay the going rate ,like always.Wenger is still trying to do what Fergie did with Beckham,Scholes etc but he forgets that the Pl is now full of the very best foreign talent and you simply need stars or at least experienced players.
How do you know Wenger wouldn’t pay the going rate for Mata? Maybe Kronke won’t sanction an increase in the wage structure so we can sign top class players like Mata & keep ones like Nasri.
I want Wenger to come out and tell Arsenal fans the truth. It’s the least we deserve. And if the truth is what I think it is, it will cost him his job. Then Arsenal fans will turn on that Yank & his South African puppet (or is that muppet) we can force Stan to sell (fan power will always win) to Usmanov, get Dein back in there, get rid of PHW and then Wenger can then come back to a proper playing staff budget & so can the good times!
MATA is ther same to NASRI if NASS will be with us its better to go for Hazard because Harzad will play left then nasri will come senter the .also hazard can be converted to be direct striker like what we did for Henry.
please wenger buy him with only left back if we want atleast to be in top 4 im not sure for the tittle to be honest.
The irony of no left footed players being employed on Arsenal’s left flank on Saturday is we have arguably the three best left footed players in the world today(two of which started against Liverpool) .
Tomas Vermaelen, Jack Wilshire and Robin van Persie…
Yet they all play through the middle. Arsenal negate the importance of wing play and we are seeing more often Arsenal failing to score. The Wenger system can be canceled by resolute defending. We need more of an Aerial threat and the best way to employ this is though beating the fullback, crossing the ball, contesting at the near post and having more than one target (who can score from a header) in the box.
There are horses for courses, but there are many games over the course of one season. Wenger needs if not though crossing and heading then though some other way add an extra dimension to our game or Arsenal face the risk of becoming one trick ponies.
“We need more of an Aerial threat and the best way to employ this is though beating the fullback, crossing the ball, contesting at the near post and having more than one target (who can score from a header) in the box.”
You’re right that we need more of an aerial threat but you can ‘contest at the near post, beat the full back, get in crosses” all you can but if you’re a midget you’ll still lose the header.
This brings me to the point that the team is full of short, light-weight men. Rosicky, Nasri, Arshavin, Walcott are all unlikely to contend never mind win a header against Agger.
This is why when we’re signing players playing, we should consider their physique in addition to age and quality.
We keep being linked to the likes of Jadson, Marvin Martin, and other midgets who are good but only have technical ability to offer….they dribble and create goals but then hide when we concede a free-kick or corner.
People say we were 2-3 signings away from winning the title in recent years…but we were truly 2-3 feet in height away from winning.
Imagine how getting a result at Stoke wouldn’t be so hard if Cesc, Wilshere, Walcott, Nasri were all bigger and taller.
hazard is better then mata he is the one for arsenal and about the board there the ones that are bringing down the club if we bring any manger in the game if it was jose.m same prablom. invest stan, osmanof and all you takers but no givers .
