Wenger on his contract situation, Ozil and Alexis deals
Arsene Wenger has given another brief response to being quizzed on his future and the contract situation concerning Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
The Arsenal manager has seen his side maintain an impressive form this season, losing only one game in all competitions since the 4-3 defeat to Liverpool on the opening day.
However, rumours linking some of his key players with a departure have threatened to unsettle the progress of his side as they look to avoid ending another campaign without silverware.
When asked on Monday if he had any news on a contract renewal for Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, who have only 18 months left on their deals, the Arsenal boss remained reticent.
“What my head and my heart is telling me is: don’t talk about it anymore!” Wenger said at the press-conference
The Frenchman’s own contract with the club expires next summer but he chose to give little away on that subject too.
“My head and my heart tells me not to talk about that too! We are all focused on targets that are of course this season.” he added
“We don’t have time or energy to think about the rest. I’ve told you many times that I want to do as well as I can for this club for as long as I’m here.”
