What if Nasri, Clichy, Fabregas, Theo and RVP all left?
Welcome to the Fantasy Debate.
This is where an interesting question/topic is posed for your responses. The comment with the most number of thumbs up will obviously be the best response made in the debate.
Today’s topic is:
What if Nasri, Clichy, Fabregas, Theo and RVP all left?
What would you do and how do you think Arsenal could move on if Nasri (likely), Clichy (likely), Fabregas (likely), Theo (pending) and RVP (pending) all left the club.
For more of this, join us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.
wenger would be fired and you’d move on and become a good team again
nothing. we’d continue our policy of buying unproven youth and inadequate players from the french league. we are an absolute joke and whoever is in charge of media relations at the club wants shooting.
guess what i was thinking the exact same thing for the whole day.Now im not one for negativity that much but so little transfer activilty with more and more star names being linked strongly with moves away from the club have left me wsndering what will become of arsenal fc?
i hope any good arsenal player to leave club may tell wenger to fuck off
i hope any good arsenal player to leave the club may tell wenger to fuck off
we wud hv loads of money lol
You would become Fulham!
everyone just hold tight .We know that Arsene wenger wont crack with us fans just saying bad things about him.THis summer he WILL LEARN!!!!His usually stubborn mind although for the good of A FC it must be said is starting to turn against him. The pressure is increasing quicker than Nasri wants more money. We dont need to go overboeard by saying that in weger we trust and other things like arsene must go.We need to wait because we are arsenal football club and wenger will have a lot of cash to spend this time .I know he didnt spend the adebayor and toure money that much but now if the board were restricting hum behind the scenes because of the move to the emirates then now is the time wenger will spend big and mix big players with experienced plyers with young talented inexperienced players.Lets just wait and see what happens and we and wenger want this club to be back where it was even if we are a role model for clubs like leeds barca and manu according to fifa.Just wait a few more days and dont hope for too much and youll be surprised with the transfers like mata.
ur deluded if you think Wenger’s changed. U only have to see his recent comments about “no-one’s moving, everyone’s waiting”- No Wenger, you’re asleep, hoping to nab a poundstrecher bargin at the end of the window and claim (as you always do) that it just wasn’t possible to sign anyone. Meanwhile, ManU have signed 3 players, Liverpool has signed 1 and Sunderland have manager 5 or 6!! Players can and will sign if you get off your ass and try! I don’t like how this summer is going, all negative talk from the few quality players talking about wanting to leave. Meanwhile, the crap players like Bendtner and Denilson seem like their going nowhere. The only players being linked with a move to AFC are a variety of players whom have little or no European experience, no domestic successes either. 5th place is the best we can hope for. Lets hope its Wenger’s last.
Sorry but stupid crap debate
Pointless if u don’t want to play for arsenal then fuck off we don’t need you. I’m sick of all this shit we got 4 players in reserves given the chance could feel there place . Remember these kids wernt brought & trained for nothing they were for the future & now
We just need some muscle & centre backs lol
if they lives ,there is nothing like arsenal again, because they are the people that are playing the good football that we need.pls wenger don’t let them go
The players named above have formed a click within the team, which is not healthy for the rest of the players. They all kiss Cescs ass and do everything he does without thinking for themselves They also think they are too good for our club,so I think Wenger shoud get rid of his spoilt pets and focus on the player who’s heart and soul are with our club.
We’ll be utter rubbish…that’s all. Oh and we “may” by a few youths.
Mind u £150 million I would sell
Come on arsen shut ur critics up I trust ya
In one way I would love it because all the plastic fans who have just jumped on to the winning bandwagon would piss off and leave the hardcore who really support our club tin peace and stop moaning.
We should stick together in times like this and not break ranks.
Would still be supporting the club as have done for 35yrs! There’s always other players if some want to leave and won’t give 110%. Can understand why they want to though and that’s the difficulty at the mo, as you ceratinly don’t wanna just keep the dross.
If VP goes next yyr, we’d have to be in for Benzema at least and it wouldn’t be a qn of not havin the money if all those sales were to go ahead…..Oxlade-Chamberain would be there next yr to fill the void by Walcott if he scoots and by then I’d hope Jet has become our new and more consistent Kanu :¬)
There should be more gruff and workrate in midfield by then with Ramsey and Wilshere, backed by Song, probably with another creative purchase (Sneijder; Honda; Alvarez; Mata) , or with Arshavin about if he doesn’t go off to Galatasary.
So there’s still chance of doing well but will also need a big CH to add to the above – not saying by a long shot we can win the league though and yes, I don’t think Wenger in his bubble realises just how close the fans could be to really expressing their disapointment with things…..
Or if you have just bought a Wilshere shirt with a number 19 on the back you have wasted your dosh.
Wilshere 4 has a nice sound to it..
that will be too bad for arsenal!
But i ll always be a gunner
I have faith in Arsene to buy good players, but he really is biding his time a little too much. This is it, this is what everything boils down to, the last six years, trophiless. Big names are needed, and if too much time is wasted, then all the available big names will be snapped up by eager beggish clubs like Chelsea and Man City. If the players want to leave, then so be it, in which case they obviously do not hold a passion for the club;’you can’t sell something you don’t believe in.’ We’ll be rolling in money when this unwilling lot are sold, so spend it, rather than wiping your arses with it!
Then you guys will finally be happy you destroyed Arsenal.
You forgot Arshavin on that list.
Look you wangers, this is all press fun and games to stir the pot.
Chill.
I don’t know…
I’ll quit being an arsenal fan.
I don’t think RVP will leave the club. He’s still got a year left of his contract and Arsenal would be dumb to let him go. I don’t believe Walcott will leave either, but if he does it wouldn’t mind me a bit.
Now to the tricky part… Fabregas is undoubtedly a player Arsenal would still benefit from having on the team, seeing his breakthrough passes and assists are more than valuable. But, on the other hand, we would be getting a lot of money for him to spend on reinforcements and, now this is interesting, we would get an Arsenal that isn’t playing a style of play that’s built around Fabregas. We would be more neutral, players would be more equal and who knows, maybe we would get a more free-flowing play.
Of course, we would need a new player in his position. Mata would be nice. I’m sure Ramsey will be a regular face to see in first team action next season. Stuart Downing is a player that also is welcome in my Arsenal.
Nasri is hard to read. I believe he wants a guarantee for trophies, and selling Fabregas, VP, Clichy etc. is not the way to guarantee him that. I hope he has a stomach of ice and keeps his cool, waits to see who Wenger buys. Gervinho will be good. Cahill or Samba or even both will be even better. And Mata or another good player to take Fabregas’ role.
If he does leave, so be it. Get Alvarez and use Ramsey also. Valbuena could also be welcomed.
Clichy.. He’s a goner. (No pun intended). Wenger will put in full faith in Gibbs, and use Vermealen as backup seeing he will probably get in Cahill, Samba or another (hopefully) good center-back.
Still waiting for those signings! When they come, I hope we’ll all (well, most of us) be happy with the outcome.
Give Wenger faith. Before he came along, Arsenal was trophy-less for 16 seasons.
First, I’d like to see the directors contracts, i think they are profit driven. The new owner will look for value not profit (value more important than profit in this type of business, under single ownership), a break even policy or little profit is OK for the next few years, we need value driven policy with solid commercial income….Stan will invest in the club…! we need to off load the deadwood at least four………keep developing youth, buy new established players five or more at least two English, not the 2-3 odd french players, this could be done with 75M. Create depth with experience not youth, so we keep the likes of Arshavin and all new contracts should have a buyout close on key players. Keep Nasir even at 110K we can sell him for more next season, if he still wants away ( by all means it is a better business deal). Guaranty CL spot, spend more in Jan if need it!! Avoid Barca to skip the drama if Fabragas move there (40M) or stays…….Win the EPL we were couple of players away last season……..!! On average players sign 3 contracts before they turn 30, AW has to work on a new system to offer that third contract (i.e. more money for players close to 30, if they are world class players) and finally, be patient with AW till end of August then we can judge….!!
Quite honestly we would fall out of the top 4 and possibily finish around 6th in the league and knocked out in the last 16 of the CL.
On the positive side our self sustaining board can annouce record profits from the sale of the majority of our first team, What more could us fans ask for.
What if I post the best comment?
But anyway, if that happens it will actually be a blessing in disguise. Of all those only Fabregas is irreplaceable. The rest will be quiet easy to replace, perhaps with even better players. We will simply get Hazard/Mata for Nasri, Gervinho/Ayew for Theo, Gibbs is all ready to replace Clichy (but must work on his defense mechanisms), Falcao/Neymar for RvP. While we are at it we must also chuck out Denilson and get Anthony Anan or his compatriot Kevin-Prince Boateng and Bendtner for Gomis.
dude, Vieira left, did we replace him?
Pires left, did we replace him?
TH14 left, did we replace him?
Campbell left, did we replace him?
The rest of the invincibles left, did we replace any of them like to like?
No!!!
So Falcao/Neymar replacing RvP, Hazard/Mata for Nasri is a dream, a dream thats never going to come true!
The problem is not the team it’s our manager we need to sack him and replace. Him with someone with new ideas he will never sign players over 14 million as his cheap but arsenal fans are still sleeping wait until he sells fabregas and nasri and clchy his going to replace them with unknowns or cheap players like gervinho who’s another chemickh he will score only 5 goals if your lucky we should be demanding players like benzema or Sanchez or naymar mata but no we are so stupid by the beginning of the season arsenal fans will just accept the shit players for another year I say arsene wanker has had his chance 6 years of it now let’s give someone else a chance SACK HIM
Look at man u they have made there team even more stronger how are we going to win the premiership now oh i forgot arsene knows my ASS…!
how can you guys become so pessimistic ??!! when has Nasri said he’ll LEAVE ?? clichy can go .. wont be sad for him .. but not to Man Shitty .. PSG better suitors. nd RVP leaving ??!! r u kidding ?? he’s the most faithful player .. nd as for cesc .. well .. if he wants to warm the bench at barca,he’s welcome. but will miss him 🙁
read nasri’s interview from yesterday. He wants to win trophies, and he as well as you as well as i know, thats not gonna happen at Arsenal, with the kind of ”squad” AW is building!!!
A lot of responseshere are widely off the mark. I believe the question was ” what if the said players actually leaves”? Meaning how would you rebuild the team if such a weirdthin happens. Nothin to do with sacking Wenger..
it would be good news actually,a blessing in disguise.time for a new start.these guys have won nothing together for a long time and i really believe it is their fault,as they are the ones on the pitch kicking that ball.so if the club has not won trophies, they should be the first one to take the blame.they should not forget that they are part of the club too.
Haha … AW n Bunch of director will very happy.
Why? they would enjoy sleep with xtra pound made from those sale.
Replacement? easy solution by promote the young fellow from reserve.
Saving again ! as cost saving by paying cheap salary those young lads.
They love $$ not trophy. Arsenal fans can juz dream and keep on do that.
We are all fed up of wenger but lets jus wait a little more and see what will happen, I love my club Arsenal now and 4ever and I only want the best for us, pls wenger change your policy and listen to us supporters 4 a minute and sign some big names, and dont 4get to replace players when you sell them with better players, we need a mixture of experience with inexperience and young talented players…………… WE DON’T NEED ANY MORE ADVERAGE PLAYERS, I DON’T WANT OUR CLUB (AFC) TO BECOME AN ADVERAGE CLUB (ASTON VILLA)
Include arshavin to that list, apparently we selling him to Galatasaray!! so then we will get 100m in funds and replace them all within.
Denilson and Bendtner will decide to stay since now they will get the game time in place of Cesc and RvP and they will be given new ”bumper” contracts .
Gibbs will replace Clichy at left back and then stay injured for 3/4 of the season and thus we will see JD playing at LB and at times Ramsey covering for JD when JD gets his annual injury!
We will sign AOC and he will replace Walcott (as the new TH14 with a lot of potential), then he will be used in the centre of mid as Ramsey is covering JD, Wilshere needs rest and Diaby is playing as a centre forward due to Bendtner falling ill!!
An unproven Gervinho will be hailed by Wenger and all from the AKB as the next BIG thing and thus he will be sufficient enough to cover for Nasri! and when the usual injuries take toll, right around February 2012, this is what our team will read like
Almunia – Sagna, Bartley, Squid, Ramsey – Song, AOC, Gervinho – Diaby(LF), JET(CF), Bendtner(back to his RF position that he loves soo much)!!
and end of year, Wenger will state that ”this has been the best team i have worked with, we just need a few areas to strengthen, the boys have shown a lot of mental strength after they came back from 2 goals down to draw 2-2 against Swansea and if you could have given me the Europa League at the start of the season, with this kind of competition, i would have taken a Europa League position all day”. then his contract is extended and he will be start being paid more than what Nasri is demanding right now!!
oh and i forgot to add, end of season wenger will use all his convinving powers to make Pat Rice stay for another year. Infact he will use so much of his convincing power that there will be none left to convince TommyV to sign a new contract and TommyV will then leave(with ofcourse Squid and Bartley and Bendtner being stated as guys who can play defence to cover for TommyV’s loss)
our new owner is a joke… hes not come and said anything… if he has no ambition why d hell did he buy the sahres… motherfucker american!!!!
well i would say its a brand new team with a brand new expectation. after thinking of lose of clichy, fabregas(never been my concern. i always want him to be left out by my club), biggest sad is nasri, and again now theo and RVP. well for me wenger made them stars with wat ever the talents they have. i know this summers for some good reason i have a feeling will be winning trophy’s. may b wenger is more pressure than v all assume. so he will play his role more than what he used to play .. it will be on the safe side.
I am looking forward to season kick. and again v will be playing good soccer. without fabregas i expect the formation will be changed. so its a good news for all the gunners living all around the world. 🙂
Wenger knows better. will wait to see what his next move.
if they want 2 leave d club, let dem all fuck off.. because they were al nting b4 they came… Arsenal wil bring more experences players 2 d club…. Let dem nt forget that good name is far more bettar than riches.were al nting b4 they came… Arsenal wil bring more experences players 2 d club…. Let dem nt forget that good name is far more bettar than riches.
The only player I wish we could keep is Cesc. I dont care about the club getting more funds from his sale or even his wish to play at home. He just have to understand that there are many players who are playing away from their respective homes. And I think Wenger will stand by his word and wont sell him to any team at any price. Wenger knows that to attract big name players, he needs to keep his best players. The only that has happened so far are the newspapers and the sorry teams who think that Arsenal is a club run like a farm. Barcelona can play their attracting football, but they are not like our beloved Arsenal to us. We havent sold anyone so far except through the stupid media guys. Today every Arsenal player will have report to the team, oh yes! Including the wantaways. Then only Wenger knows!!!
It depends on how they are replaced –
Clichy – Is definitely replaceable
Theo – Is definitely replaceable
Nasri – Good season but replaceable
Van Persie – Great Arsenal man but replaceable as he is always injured and missed half of every season in any case.
Fabregas – Very difficult to replace esepcailly if we only get 35m for him.
If these players are sold for the right money and adequate replacements are brought in then think we would be ok if not better.
If not and youth/unknowns were brought in then i think we would drop to mid table for a season or two. We play a very good system at Arsenal whether we agree or not and that system will keep us safe midtable if all these players left.
so you have accepted being a mid table team?? like aston villa and sunderland? weren’t we supposed to be winning titles? with the 2nd biggest stadium in the league, one of the best youth academy, the most attractive brand of football in the league and you want mid table!
Feck off to Spuds or West Ham with your lack of ambition
What if…?
What if a clown has access to a keyboard and the Internet, and started fanning the flames to every bit of gossip out there…..
Oh we would be here.
Clowns with Keyboards.
There seems to be so many out there that support Arsenal only to complain…. why do you bother? it isn’t healthy.
There are no facts behind there rumours.
Has Theo, RvP, Nasri, Cesc handed in transfer requests?
Regardless of what the papers say all these players have contracts. Cesc stated clearly he future is in the hands of Arsenal.
So why do you all take more notice of the hacks than fact? it’s like you want it to happen so you can keep complaining.
Why are you so abusive? Be sober in your comments. AW is the best manager Arsenal ever had. He has made obscure players such as Henry, Fabregas, Nasri etc. into World Class players. Today, they have grown horns, play with an attiude, are after big monies and even talk about the lack of trophies at Arsenal! Why can’t they deliver trophies? The lack of trophies is NOT about AW; it’s about the attitude of the players. In fact for me, any player that is not committed to Arsenal should leave this window, regardless of who. Let’s build a new team with culture and commitment, just like Barcelona did in the 1990s. I prefer to support a team with players that show passion, than big names with big egos. And that’s what we are likely to experience with big name signings as fans clamor.
God knows. Arsene, why do u like breaking our hearts. We love the team but man, some of us r discouraged and disappointed already. How are we going to carry on with these players on their way out and with no new signings yet.
The problem is some of them will leave this year and balance the next year. We will again listen to the standard crap of best squad, team spirit, bonding, attitude and what not. Wenger is presiding over the implosion in Arsenal. Invincibles look a distant past now – something closer to dinasaur age than today.
He has had a lot of opportunities to replace good people. But he is so stubborn that nothing will happen. A few examples for your consideration.
When Real bought Ronaldo they offloaded a few quality players, he could have gone for Robben, Huntelaar, Van de Vart but no. Alonso was available from Liverpool season before that (I may be wrong on the season) but he did not pay a couple of million dollars extra citing it would have retarted growth of Diaby and Denilson. Growth of whom – these two perenially retarted cases. He did not move in for Shay Given, Richard Dunne (good CB options considering jokers we have).
Then this mid-season (Jan 2011) he could have again moved in for Given, Samba (was unsettled due to new ownership), Cahill (bolton was down and he could have sold the CL dream then and chance to win something in half season), Scott Parker, Bent (how could he let him go to Villa and not even try for him – again perhaps fear of retarding growth of his retarted striker – Bendtner)
Had I been in his place this january the following would have been targeted and persued – Given (GK), Samba, one from Cahill / Mertasacker, Bent, Scott Parker.
The following would have been kicked out :
Almunia, Fabianski (GKs), Squilacci, Denilson, Diaby, Bendtner, Vela, Eboue
Would have balanced the purchase cost (may be down by 8-10Million) but definitely the wages would have evened out. One reasons these jokers dont leave is due to the high wages being paid to them here and then you call him professor in economics.
The big churning may be good for us – it may change him as a person or the board may change the manager.
seriously is going to be a disaster if those mention eventually leave the club, wenger should try his best and keep nasri and V-P to me he can allowed fabregas to go if the pressure is much and if the can offer a good price i think is okay.
Wenger should go then…..
I’m sorry my friend, for temporary I can’t say : ” in Wenger we trust”
I’m worried about Arsenal.
They can’t all play left some of them must play right and center 😀
Am I right or am I right :p
Having lived in the business world ..I am miether niave or stupid BUT please What does a contract mean to footballers> Is there no honor or even loyaltybanymore. I love the game get am getting disgudted with these highlypaid young men who seem to have niether honor(for a signed contract or loyalty to the team that spend millions nuturing them!!!
Sorry about the bad typos … its early in the am forthis old guy!!!
Further… we spend time and money building players in the Academy then either give them away or somehow they never get the big chance. Alsoan,t understand hearing that the young defender i s ready for the big time etc… and we send him to Rangers (a big team) where he is a starter immediately
