Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil took to Twitter to share his delight with the fans after playing a part in the Gunners’ convincing win over Southampton at the Emirates stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners knew the had to take advantage after watching rivals Tottenham Hotpsur succumb to a 2-1 loss away to Burnley before Manchester United clashed with Liverpool.

After beating BATE Borisov at the Emirates stadium on Thursday, Arsenal were looking to follow up that win by securing all of the three points at home to Southampton.

Mesut Ozil was one of the players who featured in the thrashing of the Belarusian side in the Europa League and the former Real Madrid star was handed some minutes of action in the second half of the clash with the Saints over the weekend.

Ozil appears to be back on the good side of Arsenal manager Unai Emery and the 30-year-old reacted on social media after helping the team defeat Southampton emphatically.
