Yaya-Sanogo-Arsenal

Yaya Sanogo is facing a possible loan spell away from the club according to reports from France.

The Arsenal striker has struggled to find his feet in England after joining the Gunners on a free transfer from Auxerre back in the summer.

But Sanogo’s lack of form has been down to lack of action, as he currently nurses a back injury he picked up on international duty during September. And according to speculation, Crystal Palace are monitoring the 20-year-old’s situation with a view of requesting a loan move for the player in January.

Sanogo, who came from the same youth ranks as Bacary Sagna and Abou Diaby, arrived from Auxerre with a notable injury-prone record and after spending the entire month of October on the sidelines, Arsene Wenger revealed that the French youngster could finally be back in action within a couple of weeks.

“Sanogo could be the earliest one [of the long-term absentees to return], which could be mid-November.” Wenger said

After flourishing for France’s 2013 FIFA Under-20 World Cup-winning side just weeks before his move to Arsenal, Sanogo, who has only made two appearances in Arsenal colours, will be keen to avoid a fate similar to several youngsters in the past who failed to excel despite their promising talent.

A senior member of the club’s academy has confirmed that Arsenal may ponder a loan deal in January to speed up the striker’s progress as he approaches his 21st birthday.
